CONTROLLED GREED.com is based in Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A. The editor is John Bethel.
CG follows a value-oriented investment style. That by itself doesn't explain much, but the types of recommendations made on CG over time will help define what's a truly vague term on Wall Street (when was the last time you ever heard someone boast that he or she invested in "over-valued" stocks?).
IMPORTANT: The editor personally owns, or is actively buying, EVERY stock recommended on this site. He is struck by the number of pundits appearing in the media touting a specific stock and, when asked if they personally own their recommendation, say they do not. This site will never recommend a stock that the editor does not have a stake in.
What does this mean for you? It's simple, really. If you buy a stock the editor likes and he makes money on the pick, you make money. On the other hand, if you lose on a stock mentioned here, well, you at least have the satisfaction of knowing that the editor feels your pain.
ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT: CG is an investment blog -- NOT a "trading" blog. Almost every stock mentioned here will have a 3-5 year horizon. Also, CG rarely picks the absolute bottom, so be prepared for holding to go down before it rises to fair value. The editor is.
Hopefully, you'll find that CG is a source of good, sound, uncommon stock ideas -- one you and the editor can both profit from over the long term.
