Wow. I shorted GM in a stock market game I'm playing with my class. The pension liabilities and unions are huge hurdles. They should keep their credit business (up for sale?) and sell the North American car unit, ha!. Toyota in a long time Marty Whitman holding, IF I were to buy a car company it would be Toyota. Hey, for every buyer, there's a seller! Good Luck

GM is not a good company anymore, other car companies are eating its lunch, and if you add its pension liabilities to its book value it's overvalued.

I still think GM is well worthwhile and will be for quite some time.

I am actively looking at GM now. What are the risks here?

Shiv: Did you read the recent Barron's cover story? That's the best wrap up of the risks I've seen. Check it out.
